Support

Answers to what people ask most, and how to reach us when they don’t help.

Email us

Write to support@r5iot.com. Tell us your phone model and what you tapped, and a screenshot helps. You can also ask us for a copy of your data or to delete it.

Delete your account

  1. Open Reddy and tap the gear on Today to open Settings.
  2. Under Your account, tap Delete account.

If you’re the last adult in your home, the shared plan and kids’ phones are removed too. The plan on your phone stays, as Just me, until you tap Delete all data in Settings. What gets deleted

Getting started

Do I need an account?

No. With Just me, everything stays on your phone and there’s nothing to sign up for.

You only sign in if you want to share the plan with your family or household, so everyone sees the same thing.

Does it work with no signal?

Yes. Your plan is saved on each phone, so who to call, where to meet and how to shut things off are there even when the internet is down.

You can also add the plan to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.

How do my kids join?

From your phone, share a join code with them. Kids don’t need an account or an email, and you approve their phone from yours. A join code expires after 24 hours.

Does the scanner work on Android?

Scanning is on iPhone only. On Android, type the item’s name and its use-by date, and Reddy reminds you before it expires all the same.

Scanning

Why doesn’t the barcode give me the use-by date?

The striped barcode on most groceries only holds a product number. Every can of the same beans has the same barcode, whether it expires next month or in two years, so the date can’t be in it.

The date is printed on the package instead. That’s why the scanner has a second step that reads the printed best by, use by or exp date.

When does the barcode include the date?

Some codes do carry it: the small square code on medicine boxes, longer barcodes on some meat and deli items, and newer QR codes that brands are starting to print.

When Reddy finds a date inside the code, it fills it in and skips the date step.

Why couldn’t Reddy find the product’s name?

Names come from Open Food Facts, a free public product database. It covers most groceries, but not every brand, and few non-food items like batteries or first aid supplies.

When a product isn’t listed, type its name once. Looking up a name also needs an internet connection.

Is the scanner AI?

It uses Apple’s built-in camera recognition, which runs on your phone, to read barcodes and printed dates. Nothing you scan is sent to an AI service.

Only the barcode number goes to Open Food Facts to look up a name.

The date it read is wrong. What now?

Tap the item and change the use-by date, or tap Scan the date to try again. A label that shows only a month and year, like 08 2027, is saved as the first of that month so reminders come early.

Your plan and privacy

Is my plan sent anywhere when I add it to Wallet?

Apple and Google only accept Wallet cards that Reddy has signed, and that happens on Reddy’s small card service, not on your phone. So the card’s details (your home’s name, meeting spots, contacts and shut-off locations) are sent there to be signed. The service doesn’t keep them.

In a shared home, Reddy keeps a card number so it can update your card when the plan changes. Once the card is in your Wallet, it works with no signal.

Where do my photos go?

Nowhere. Photos of your bags, shelves and meeting spots stay on the phone that took them. They’re never uploaded and never part of the shared plan.

Reddy isn’t an emergency service, and email isn’t watched around the clock. In an emergency, call 911.
