Effective November 4, 2026 · Reddy for iPhone and Android, made by R5IOT LLC

The short version

  • Reddy has no ads and doesn’t track you. It never uses your phone’s advertising ID, and we don’t sell or share your data for ads.
  • With Just me (no account), your plan lives only on your phone.
  • If you share with your family or household, the plan is saved on our server so everyone in your home sees the same thing. Only your home can read it.
  • Your photos never leave your phone.
  • Kids’ phones don’t need an account or an email, and they send no analytics.
  • You can delete your account in the app at any time.

Using Reddy on your own

When you use Just me, everything you enter (names, supplies, use-by dates, bags, your plan, contacts, reminders, lessons you’ve read and photos) is saved only on your phone. We don’t receive it. A few features do reach out to the internet, each described below: barcode lookups, Wallet cards, and analytics and crash reports.

“Delete all data” in Settings erases what Reddy stored on that phone.

Accounts

An account is optional. You only need one to share a plan with others. You can sign in with Apple, with Google, or with a 6-digit code sent to your email. We keep:

  • Your sign-in details: your email address and which sign-in method you used. If you choose Apple’s “Hide My Email”, we only see the relay address Apple gives us.
  • The name you go by in your home (for example “Mom” or “Dana”).
  • Your phone’s name or model (for example “Dana’s iPhone”), so the people who manage your home can tell phones apart.
  • Your role in the home (owner, parent, admin or helper) and when you joined.

Shared homes

When you share a family or household, Reddy saves one copy of the plan to our database so every phone in the home stays in sync. That copy holds:

  • Your home’s name, and the names of the people and pets in the plan.
  • Your water goal and the water you’ve stored.
  • Your supplies: names, amounts, where they’re kept, use-by dates, calorie counts from barcodes, and which bag something is packed in.
  • What’s packed in each person’s bag, and any extras for that person (such as baby items, glasses, medicine or mobility needs).
  • Your meeting spots, where your gas, water and power shut off, and your emergency contacts with their phone numbers.
  • Suggestions you’ve chosen to skip.

Only the adults in your home and the kids’ phones you’ve approved can read it. Reminders, the lessons you’ve read and your photos stay on each phone and are never part of the shared plan.

To join a home, someone shares a one-time code that expires after 24 hours, and a parent or admin approves the new phone. We log each code attempt to slow down guessing.

Kids’ phones

Kids never make an account. A kid’s phone joins with a code and gets an anonymous ID that lives only on that phone. We keep the first name the parent typed for the kid, the phone’s name or model, the settings the parent chose for that phone (such as editing their own bag) and whether a parent has approved it. We don’t collect an email, a phone number or analytics from a kid’s phone. Crash reports are still sent so we can fix bugs (see below). A parent can remove a kid’s phone at any time.

Groups and check-ins

Homes can join a group with neighbors or extended family. A group sees only:

  • The group’s name and meeting spot.
  • Each home’s name.
  • Check-ins: who asked and when, and each home’s answer (“We’re OK”, “We need help” or “We can help”) with the time.
  • If your home chooses to share it, your “What we can share” list (for example a water filter, a generator or a nurse in the family) and one contact name and phone number for it.

Groups never see your supplies, bags, people or kids. Sharing the list and contact is off until you add something, and you can clear it at any time.

Wallet cards

You can add your plan to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Wallet cards must be signed by us, so when you add one, the card’s details (your home’s name, meeting spots, contacts with their phone numbers and shut-off locations) are sent to Reddy’s card service to be signed. The service doesn’t keep them.

For shared homes, the card updates when the plan changes. To do that we keep:

WhatWhat it holdsWhy
Wallet cardsA card number for you in your home, a private key for that card, and a fingerprint of what the card last showedTo know which card to update and to skip updates when nothing changed
Wallet devicesThe ID Apple Wallet gives your device and its push tokenSo Apple Wallet can be told your card has changed
Google Wallet cardsThe card’s ID in Google Wallet and a fingerprint of what it showed (the last 10 per person)To update the card saved in Google Wallet

When you leave a home, your card stops updating. A card you’ve added is also held by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, we save your phone’s push token and whether it’s an iPhone or Android phone. We use it only to tell you when a phone asks to join your home or group, when your group asks for a check-in, or when a home answers “We need help”. These alerts are delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple’s push service, and they include names from your home or group (for example “Isla’s phone is asking to join”). Signing out or deleting your account removes the token.

Barcode scanning

On iPhone you can scan a barcode to add a supply. Only the product number is sent to Open Food Facts, a free public food database, to look up the product’s name, size and calories. The use-by date is read on your phone. The picture you take becomes the item’s photo and stays on your phone.

Photos

Photos of your family, bags, supplies, meeting spots and shut-offs are saved only on the phone that took them. They are never uploaded, never part of the shared plan and never on your Wallet card.

Analytics and crash reports

On adult phones, Reddy uses Google Firebase Analytics to count which screens get used and basic app events, so we know what to improve. Firebase also collects general details like device model, system version, app version and an approximate location (such as country or city) based on your network. Reddy runs Firebase without the advertising ID, never sets a user ID, and never sends your names, plan or supplies to analytics. Kids’ phones send no analytics.

If Reddy crashes or hits an error, Firebase Crashlytics sends a crash report: what went wrong in the app’s code, the device model, system version and app version. We use it only to fix bugs.

This website

This privacy policy also covers this website. It’s hosted by Vercel, which keeps short-lived server logs (such as IP addresses) to run and protect the site.

We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics. It uses no cookies and doesn’t follow you to other sites. For each page view it records the page address (without anything after a ? or #), the referring site, and your country, browser, operating system and device type. To count visitors it uses a short code made from your request that changes every day and can’t be used to identify you. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we don’t count your visit at all.

The website has no sign-in, no forms and no ads. Its fonts are served from the site itself, not from Google.

Who helps us run Reddy

We don’t sell your data. We use these services only to run the features above:

  • Supabase: our database and sign-in, hosted in the United States.
  • Google Firebase: analytics, crash reports and push notifications.
  • Cloudflare: the card service that signs Wallet cards.
  • Apple and Google: Sign in with Apple, Google sign-in, push delivery and Wallet.
  • Open Food Facts: product lookups by barcode number.
  • Vercel: hosting and visit counts for this website.
  • Our email host, to send sign-in codes.

We don’t sell or share personal information for advertising, including as those words are used in California law. We may share information if the law requires it.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep your account and shared plan while you use them. You can delete your account from Settings in the app. That deletes your account, takes you out of your home and removes your push tokens and Wallet card records. If you were the last adult in the home, the home’s shared plan, its kids’ phones and its offers to groups are deleted too. The plan on your phone stays, as Just me, until you choose “Delete all data”.

Join codes expire after 24 hours. You can also email us to ask for a copy of your data or to have it deleted.

Children

Reddy is meant to be set up by parents. Kids can use it on a phone a parent approves, with no account. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children beyond the first name a parent enters for the family plan. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we’ll delete it.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top. Questions or requests: support@r5iot.com. R5IOT LLC.
